Breaking News: Court Expels Two Lawyers Over Expired Licenses

In an unprecedented courtroom drama, two defense lawyers, Deng John and Wernyang Kiir Wernyang, were ordered to leave a special court session after judges discovered their licenses to practice law had expired.

Court officials confirmed that the presiding judge disqualified the pair, ruling that they could only resume participation once they obtained renewed authorization from the South Sudan Bar Association. Police escorted the two out of the courtroom following the ruling.

According to judicial sources, both lawyers now face possible legal consequences for practicing law with invalid credentials. If found guilty, they could be fined up to 6550,000 SSP, sentenced to 10 years in prison, or both and face a nationwide ban from legal practice.

The incident has sparked outrage within the judiciary, with judges describing the act as a “serious dishonor” to South Sudan’s justice system.

Insiders in the Justice Department revealed that Deng John and Wernyang Kiir Wernyang are now under close scrutiny and may be restricted from leaving Juba pending further investigation.
